Blue Jay Road Widening Project – Effingham County, Georgia

J.W. Oliver Construction, Inc. is currently working on the Blue Jay Road Widening Project for Effingham County to improve traffic flow and provide safe access to a newly constructed elementary school. The project involves approximately 2,200 linear feet of roadway widening and the construction of two new dedicated turning lanes designed to support increased school-related traffic.

In addition to roadway improvements, the project includes relocating existing water main infrastructure and installing new gravity sanitary sewer systems to support current and future development within the corridor. Work activities consist of grading, drainage improvements, utility coordination, utility relocation, asphalt paving, traffic control, erosion and sediment control measures, and final roadway striping.

The project requires coordination with county officials, utility providers, and school representatives to maintain safe traffic operations and limit disruptions to local residents and motorists throughout construction. Upon completion, the improvements will provide critical infrastructure to support the community’s growing needs.
